The New York Jets have reached agreement with free agent safety LaRon Landry on a one-year, $4 million contract, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. A first-round pick out of LSU by the Washington Redskins in 2007, Landry has 383 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four interceptions, six forced fumbles and 31 passes defensed during his five-year career. An instant Pro Bowler, Landry has missed 15 games over the last two seasons with Achilles and groin injuries. Landry is more of an inside-the-box strong safety whose size (nearly 220 pounds) makes him less effective in coverage.

I always thought he could be a hell of a LB but Safety is cool too.

He's huge now, like ridiculously big Sweets. There was another Landry thread on here where we posted pics.

I think this picture shows why people would think he could be a LB with all the muscle he put on, he looks more like a LB than a SS

With all that muscle build up you of course increase your strength and hitting ability but it also seems like your speed and agility would suffer greatly
