Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn says he was involved in a different kind of bounty system—away from New Orleans. Horn, appearing as guest of Evan Cohen and Steve Phillips on Sirius XM's Mad Dog Radio on Thursday morning, said when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs — the team that drafted him — there was a money pool to reward big hits, with the winner determined by who threw the best chop block. When the news of the Saints' penalties came down Wednesday, Horn had expressed his anger at the severity of the suspensions — including a year-long ban for coach Sean Payton — via Twitter. Per New Orleans television WVUE Fox 8, Horn in turn angered fans of both the Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons by saying both teams had a similar pay-to-injure program. Horn is among former Saints blaring about the consequences of Bountygate, it's a sign that commissioner Roger Goodell's goal of making the penalties resonate through the entire league is working on both players past and present. Just another example of when players say crap like happens all around the league. Not suprising at all...
Agreed. If they want to comment fine, but don't bring names and teams into it that's just stupid. Yea it was excessive to a degree but its suppose to be to prove a point to the other teams. The Saints got caught, deal and work through it.
I just saw that image of Joe Horn in a Falcons uniform, thought of that dreaded 2007 season, and cried
You know what I hear when I read this? "Hi. I haven't been relevant for at least 5 years so I'm going to say crap and hope you ask me for an interview so I can get back in the public spotlight. I know things. I will tell them all to you for 75.00 bucks." Screw you Joe Horn.
well, let's find out who the coaches were at the time and if they're still in the league, let's indefinitely suspend them after we cut their nuts off and sacrifice their first borns
Big hits are different than trying to cripple a guy first of all. Secondly, Joe Joe is obviously missing the point....
Insert Joe Horn and enjoy [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK3F2ZONjW0]Brad's Got Mail - YouTube[/ame]
