Matt Forte apparently isn't happy with the Chicago Bears' signing Thursday of free-agent running back Michael Bush, implying via Twitter that he feels "disrespected" by the move according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. There is no question the Bears, at least in part, were thinking about insurance for Forte when they agreed to terms with Bush on a four-year contract. Bush was by many to be the best running back available in free agency. Forte, who was hoping for a longterm contract with the Bears but instead received the franchise tag earlier this month, took to Twitter to say: “There's only so many times a man that has done everything he's been asked to do can be disrespected! Guess the GOOD GUYS do finish last....†Source: The Redzone
Do these heckers NOT realize that this is a BUSINESS? And if you have 1 guy who wants a CRAP ton of money that you don't want to spend you're going to search for other options?
Good crap. Matty, you're a RB. Dime a dozen, broski. Should be grateful for any multi-year offer they throw your way.
Everyone understands this is a business but from the day Matt Forte was drafted he has been the only solid player on the offense that produces on the field. Last season was the first season that he was sidelined by injury and that, luckily, was a hyper extended knee. Yes, the running back position is the most disposable position on the offense but that doesn't mean that they aren't supposed to be paid what they're worth. He's done everything they asked, he didn't hold out of training camp last year after everyone was telling him to and carried a sorry offense until he got hurt. They need to quit bringing all these other running backs in and pay the man!!! They should be using all this money for an offensive line!!! Current RB's Kahlil Bell - Just got a contract extension Marion Barber - Was signed last August Michael Bush - Was signed today for $14 million Matt Forte - Still working off his rookie contract. Yet they can't figure out how to keep Cutler upright. <smh>
pffft another twitter warrior in the NFL STFU and play ball - entertain the fans for the crap ton of money you are already getting and show the bears why they need to lock you up
Forte's been a good soldier & the only real offense the Bears have had since he's shown up. This isn't your run of the mill RB but a guy who can & has done it all. I understood that he needed time to figure out this organization's smoke & mirrors BS & what they really mean when they speak but c'mon, Matt... :icon_rolleyes:
