Denver Broncos safety Brian Dawkins remains undecided about whether he wants to return for a 17th NFL season, FOXsports.com reported. Dawkins, 38, is unsigned for 2012, but the report said the Broncos have stayed in contact about the possibility of re-signing him. Dawkins missed two of the final three regular-season games and both playoff games with a neck injury last season, he also missed five games in 2010. Although Dawkins didn’t record an interception for the first time in his career last year, he still has some explosiveness, as evidenced by his three sacks, 51 tackles and six passes defensed. The Broncos’ acquisition of Peyton Manning hasn’t swayed Dawkins to lean more toward returning. “My decision will be based upon me making the right decision for me going forward—period,†Dawkins said on Sirius XM NFL Radio. “That’s a decision I’ll make at some point.†Source: Sporting News
Okay, here's the deal. The Eagles NEED to sign Dawkins. If only for a year, sign him. Bring him in to play some and mentor Nate Allen. Allen was a beast his rookie year before he got hurt and could be a tremendous player and having Dawk to learn from would be AMAZING. Ryans is a leader but having Dawk in that locker room as well. FREAK I'd get a giant boner. Unfortunately he'll retire a member of the Broncos and it'll freaking KILL me. But yeah. Sign him. Do it. Do it now. Screw DO IT
