Free agent linebacker David Hawthorne has agreed to terms on a five-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago reports. Financial terms were not disclosed. Hawthorne, who has spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks after signing as an undrafted free agent out of TCU in 2008, had an extended visit with the New Orleans Saints last month, but left without a signed contract. Hawthorne was also scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions, but that was canceled after Detroit re-signed middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch.
