Dan Pompei of the National Football Post spoke with some NFL scouts and executives regarding Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill, and it seems like they’re not convinced that he’s ready be a starter in the NFL at this point. “Can he come in and play at a championship level?†said one NFL GM. “When you start talking about a top five pick, that’s what you are trying to say. I don’t see that in him. He is still young in the quarterback position in terms of the reps and starts.†Tannehill was initially seen as an early second-round prospect when the draft process first began months ago, but has vaulted into the the top half of the first-round and could very well end up being a Top 10 pick. The people that Pompei spoke with seem to think he would be best served by sitting a little while before being thrust into the starting role. While this is probably an unlikely scenario, he would be a great for the Eagles considering that they could work with him for a few years before turning over their offense to him a later point in time. um, very few guys are ready to be stud nfl starters straight out of college. doesn't mean they can't turn out alright ................. the last 3 SB-winning QB's, aaron rodgers, drew brees, and eli manning all didn't start looking like decent qb's until they had been in the league for a few years.
Of all the teams that would reach for him, Miami makes the most sense and it's because of the tie-in with Mike Sherman. I just don't see franchise QB material there.
Which only means that Kiper must have said something bad about him because those heckin douchebags are paid only to have conflicting opinions of one another to try and create good tv. Which they fail miserably at.

well, that's probably true. it will be interesting to see where he is drafted. it would be hilarious if he fell to the 2nd or 3rd round and all of the mock draft experts would have to stumble all over themselves.
