According to 5News Sports, the University of Arkansas contacted Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll about their head coaching vacancy, but the former USC head coach turned them down. Carroll, 60, compiled an 83-19 record and won a pair of National Championships for the Trojans, where he coached from 2001-09 before accepting the Executive VP of Football Operations & Head Coach position with the Seahawks on January 11, 2010. The Seahawks have gone 7-9 in each of first two seasons under Carroll, but that record was enough to win the NFC West and host a playoff game, which they won, in 2010. The Seahawks finished in third place in the NFC West last season. Details of coaching contracts are kept largely under wraps, but Carroll is reportedly earning $7 million per season from the Seahawks. Former Razorbacks head coach Bobby Petrino was earning $3.5 million annually. Source: Mac's Football Blog
He's a great college coach. Doesn't seen to be translating to the NFL. If I were him I'd jump all over that job.
not surprising. His daughter works for Arky. Although, snobby Pete wouldn't exactly be a great fit at Arky.
