Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press Thursday that the Vikings are only considering three players to select at the No. 3 position in the draft: tackle Matt Kalil, cornerback Morris Claiborne, and wide receiver Justin Blackmon (Apparently Spielman doesn't agree with NFL Network's Mike Mayock, who doesn't believe Blackmon belongs in that rarefied air.) Spielman isn't telling us anything we couldn't have guessed already. It would be stunning if the team took Blackmon. He says the team will entertain trade offers. "What you're saying (to the staff) is, 'All these guys have equal ability,' " Spielman said, noting there is no favorite for the pick. Source: NFL.com
I have them taking Claiborne. That secondary is weak. Winfield is the only one consistent but he is up there in age.
Was hoping this was really going to be narrowed down, not the 3 everyone has been guessing since the season ended. If they take Blackmon at 3 I might have to take a year off from the Vikes.
This is merely a ploy to get the teams interested in any of those players to try and make a deal with them. I dont trust a single word that any team representative says this week.
yep, i've been hearing a lot rumors this week that the vikes 'may not' take kalil ................ all of this talk 'could' be the vikes trying to get someone to trade up if the vikes can make them believe they might take claiborne or blackmon.
