The Baltimore Ravens will sign free agent quarterback Curtis Painter, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports. Painter was part of a group of quarterbacks that worked out for the Ravens on Thursday, joining Dennis Dixon and former Ravens first round pick Kyle Boller. A 2009 sixth round pick out of Purdue by the Indianapolis Colts, Painter sat behind Peyton Manning his first two seasons in the league before starting eight games, all losses, during the 2011 season. Painter completed 132-of-243 pass attempts for 1,541 yards with six touchdowns and nine interceptions before giving way to Dan Orlovsky for the remainder of the season. Despite having one season remaining on his contract, the Colts released Painter on March 9. In Baltimore, Painter reunites with Jim Caldwell, his former head coach in Indianapolis who is now the Ravens quarterbacks coach. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Interesting...hope the kid doesn't implode again. Very likeable guy. It seemed like he had a difficult time adjusting and once a team got to him a few times he made some terrible decisions. Almost like he was panicing. He was definitely not the same guy after the Saints game. I always wondered who was so enamored of him on the Colts team. Seeing that he will be back with Caldwell, perhaps that is my answer.
Flacco better ease up off his contract demands now! lol.... But seriously Painter is a camp arm, wont even make the team
