Tim Kavanagh of ESPN reports that DE Calais Campbell will likely be among the slew of franchise tagged players in missing the start of offseason OTAs come Monday, April 16th. As expected, the Cardinals tagged Campbell when they were unable to reach an agreement with the star player this offseason. While it remains likely that Campbell and the Cardinals reach an agreement before the July 16th deadline (at which point the unsigned player will be forced to make a decision on signing their franchise tag), it’s less clear whether things will be sorted out in time for June’s mini-camp. I've heard this crap before. Tag a player with extreme confidence that they'll sign him only to watch them walk out the door. Tagged Dansby twice before he cashed in elsewhere. And in Boldin they wanted to nickel and dime it. This is one guy the Cards cannot afford to lose.
