Offensive tackle Marc Colombo has signed a ceremonial one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys so that he can retire from professional football as a member of that franchise, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports. Colombo's retirement will become official on Monday. "My time here was the majority of my career," said Colombo. "I feel like this place made me the football player I always wanted to be. It’s just an amazing place with an unbelievable owner. To be able to play at other places you realize there’s nothing like being a Cowboy." A first round pick out of Boston College by the Chicago Bears in 2002, the 6-foot-8, 316-pound Colombo was limited by knee injuries to just 19 games over his first four seasons in the NFL. Waived by the Bears, Colombo joined the Cowboys late in the 2005 season. Colombo started 72 games from 2006-10 before he was released after last year's lockout and signed by the Miami Dolphins, where made 16 starts and played in 99.3 percent of the offensive snaps in 2011.
