eh, unless we know the particulars, this is very vague. is their definition of 'significant' a 5 year/$50 mill deal? i have a feeling that due to avril's young age and his inflated ego, he's probably looking for a long-term $80 or $100 mill deal (similar to mario williams) and the Lions may not be getting close to that.
I wouldn't give him 40, I think he's overrated and self centered and could be a product of that system
well, considering before suh and vandenbosch arrived, he was heading down the same career path as someone like randy starks or cory redding (pedestrian rotational DE), i tend to agree. but he's smart. his stock will never be higher so he's going to try and cash in.
