Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writes that the Green Bay Packers could end up using “as many as one-third†of their 12 draft picks on pass-rushing prospects. There’s no question that this is their biggest area of need. McGinn mentions that, for the most part, GM Ted Thompson has used their first-round picks to address needs more than drafting the best player available. Now there are obvious instances where he went for a luxury pick like Aaron Rodgers, but since they’ve transitioned to a 3-4, they been aggressive to address their obvious concerns early on in the draft. It’s hard to say who specifically will be available to them at #28, considering that Shea McClellin, Nick Perry, Melvin Ingram, Courtney Upshaw and Whitney Mercilus could all be gone by then. there seems to be a lot of good pass rushers in this years' draft and i'm sure the packers would love to grab someone for the opposite side of mathews. it would help their defense overall to have another legit pass rusher.
There's eight pass rushers with first round grades (Ingram, Coples, Upshaw, Mercilus, Perry, Jones, McClellin & Branch). I don't think there will be any issues about having no pass rush options at #28.
I want McClellin...hes got a motor like matthews and is the most overall rounded OLB in the draft i believe.
