"Barring something unforeseen," veteran quarterback Mark Brunell is expected to announce his retirement, according to the Florida Times-Union. Brunell played 19 season in the NFL, most recently with the Jets. "Most guys that have trouble leaving the game are in their 20s," Brunell said. "I've been preparing for football to be over with for quite some time." Source: CBSSports
It's been a long ride, Seems like forever ago he was quarterbacking the Jaguars (oh it was). Guess he got sick of this... He was also a serviceable backup after that. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjCcH5tNleo]NFL Top Ten Lefty QB's #5 Mark Brunell - YouTube[/ame]
Hard to believe he never through over 20 TDs in a season until he was with the redskins in 2005 and that was the only season.
Quite a few years he was over 3000 yards passing and I think there were a couple he was close to 4000 or over 4000. Keenan McCardell and Jimmy Smith were some pretty nice weapons at the time...
