The Dolphins nearly had perfect attendance Tuesday at the start of their voluntary three-day mini-camp, as 63 of 64 veterans under contract participated in the two 90-minute practices. But the one absence was noticeable - pass rusher Cameron Wake, who sat out the day in protest of his contract situation. Wake, who leads the Dolphins with 22 1/2 sacks over the past two seasons, is due to make just $615,000 in base salary in 2012, ranked 31st-highest on his own team. Wake, entering the final year of the four-year contract he signed with Miami after starring in the Canadian Football League, hopes to receive a contract extension before hitting free agency next year. Wake skipped the beginning of the team's voluntary workouts two weeks ago, returned to the workouts last week and was a no-show Tuesday. Source: Palm Beach Post
