The Atlanta Falcons wound up landing Asante Samuel for the budget price of a seventh-round draft pick. That is the selection the Falcons sent to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the four-time Pro Bowl performer. It is the 229th overall pick in the draft. Samuel agreed to restructure his contract to make the trade happen. He now has a $18.5 million, three-year contract. It’s proof positive that players with sizeable contracts – Samuel was scheduled to make $21.5 million over the next two seasons in Philadelphia – can be very difficult to trade for value. Eagles got raped. Should have traded him 2 Months ago when they were trying 2 get 2 much for him. They got greedy then ran out of time, had to give him away. Falcons win.
Two months ago? You don't have any clue what you are talking about. Last year we could've got something nice. It was well known we were looking to ditch him at the end of last year. Value went to crap at that point.
Dumbass two Months ago you could have gotten a 3rd or 4th round for him. Eagles wanted much more and it bit them in the butt.
Ya there is absolutly no way anyone would have given up a 3rd for a 31 year old CB that was due 20 million over the next two years
Ya the big problem with Samual was his huge contract....but Falcons got him to take a lot less. Not easy to convince an nfl player to take a pay cut.
