With the 6th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Morris Claiborne, CB (LSU). Claiborne is a talented cornerback with solid size and athleticism. He offers the skills necessary to be a No. 1 at the next level, and his ability as a return man gives him additional value. Physical, battles hard and does not back down to a challenge. Engages receivers at the line of scrimmage, quick flipping his hips in transition and displays a burst of closing and recovery speed. Aggressive against the run and works hard to make plays up the field. Source: Sports Illustrated
So who's expandable now we have Jenkins Carr scandeick and Claiborne Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thats a good question. I would think Scandrick would be the odd man out. Also Jenkins contract is up after 2012 I believe. Or they may keep all of them. Who knows what Jerry has in mind.
Honestly, I think they let Jenkins play out his contract. Cause think about it.. He is gonna be playing for his next big payday. So why not let him work his butt off?? It is a win win in our secondary now.. I am really happy with what we have.
Anyway it plays out Im fine with. But would rather have Jenkins over Scandrick. Now if they can make some solid picks in the rest of the draft.
with the way the game is being played today, teams often have 5 db's or more on the field. nickel coverage is no longer reserved for 3rd and long. it's hard for a team to have too many good db's in today's game.
The wonderlic fiasco and his whole reaction to it showed me a lot about his character and intelligence. I assume there have been men with 'lesser' intelligence that were immature and only had their eyes focused on the '$$$' before they were drafted who succeeded in the NFL. But I'm also guessing failure rate on these type of players is high. I'm just glad the bastards didn't get Barron.
Garrett is a football smart guy. I am sure he did his homework. I would of loved to of gotten Decastro but we really needed a solid corner.
