Earlier this week, Peter King of Sports Illustrated reported that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald wanted his team to select Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd "badly". Given Fitzgerald's prominent voice in that organization, and the team's glaring need for another weapon in the passing game, the Cardinals selected Floyd with the 14th overall pick. Needless to say, Fitzgerald was pleased. "In this league you have to be able to beat press man coverage on third down," Fitzgerald told The Arizona Republic. "He is a big guy who has suddenness and can win on third down and make plays in the red zone...And he's from Minnesota. Enough said. LOL." Fitzgerald has served a mentor to Floyd, who caught 271 passes for 3,686 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Irish, including 100 receptions for 1,147 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games in 2011. Fitzgerald and Floyd will likely work out with one another before training camp in Minnesota and the rookie is hoping to get some tips on staying healthy from the perennial Pro Bowler. "The guy stays healthy and is productive year in and year out," Floyd said of Fitzgerald last night. "For the most part, I'm going to get from him is just making sure how to stay healthy, stay positive all the time and just be productive when I'm out there on the field." Source: Mac's Football Blog
