Ryan Tannehill began his career with the Dolphins at their rookie minicamp today. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, he had a good first day at minicamp. Tannehill said he knows approximately "80 to 85 percent" of the offense because it's similar to the one he ran at Texas A&M under Mike Sherman although "some of the concepts have changed." Tannehill throws a very impressive ball on out patterns and comebacks. He also connected on a couple of deep passes that caught the coaching staff's collective eye. He threw a couple of double-moves and deep routes well," coach Joe Philbin said.

maybe it's just me but i would rather think that if you draft a quarterback in the first round of the nfl draft, you would EXPECT him to "throw" routes well.

The point is that he knows the routes already because the system is so close to what it was in college.

Salguero isn't the best in south FLA.

The whole move to draft him makes no sense to me. Still. I understand you need a "#1 QB/face of the franchise", but why make the move to sign Garrard? Moore knows enough of the team to mentor and be a gateway, he did damn well with that team down the stretch last year. He's not a household name, but you have to think if Miami would have stuck with him and built the rest of the team in this draft, they could shoot for a good QB in 2013
