Jordan Jefferson, the quarterback, who went 24-8 as a starter for LSU, signed a contract with the Bucs on Sunday after impressing coaches during the weekend's rookie minicamp according to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times. Jefferson is among several players who will be added to the roster, coach Greg Schiano said. He said the team could have "22 to 29" transactions involving some of the 14 rookie free agents it signed last week and those to whom it gave camp tryouts, that amounts to a major shakeup of the bottom of the roster even with the 90-man limit enacted by the NFL last month. Jefferson entered camp without assurances beyond meals and a place to sleep. As a tryout candidate, he had four practices to prove he was worth keeping. "He's an athletic guy who has a strong arm," Schiano said. "We wanted to gauge his development as a quarterback. I thought he made consistent improvement all weekend. There's a lot of upside there, so I think we would like to have a chance to work with him."
