The Atlanta Falcons have released veteran fullback Ovie Mughelli, reports Zach Klein, the sports director at WSB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Atlanta. Mughelli, 31, has started 38 of 69 games over his five seasons in Atlanta. Valued for his blocking, Mughelli has paved the way for three 1,000-yard seasons by Michael Turner, adding 70 rushing yards and a touchdown on his own, Mughelli also has 38 receptions for 295 yards and four touchdowns as a member of the Falcons. A two-time Pro Bowler, most recently in 2010, Mughelli's 2011 season ended with a right knee injury in October. By releasing Mughelli, the Falcons will save $3 million in cap space. As a vested veteran, Mughelli is free to sign with another club once his release becomes official.

Was thinking the same thing when I seen the thread. I like Mughelli and would like to have a true fullback in Pittsburgh again.

Yeah if Mughelli recovers from that ACL he'd be a good pickup...i dont need him slamming into our LB's trading shots with Leach so obviously im against it happening in Pittsburgh lol
