The Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik mentioned that corner back Ronde Barber will most likely play safety for them next season in a post-draft radio interview, per Roy Cummings. Barber’s productively has dropped in recent years and the fact that he’s currently 37 years old isn’t helping his chances any. Tampa Bay drafted safety Mark Barron to start from day one, so Barber figures to play alongside of him, while contributing where ever the team needs him to. There’s a chance that he could even see time as a slot corner for them next season, depending on how things go with their current group of corner backs. Source: Roy Cummings, Twitter
he could definitely be a safety, espeically playing with barron now. but them passing on claiborne doesnt suggest to me that they are prepared to move barber to safety, sounds like they are unprepared
by moving barber to safety doesnt that leave them short handed at CB? Taking Claiborne and teaming him up with talib would have made moving barber very easy. Who else do they have at Cb besides tandy now?
