In 2011, Reggie Bush stunned the world by being something he'd never been in his career before: a traditional running back. Bush rushed for 200 yards in one game (more than his entire rushing yard total from 2010) and topped 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the first time in his career. Now Bush has an even bolder goal: he wants to lead the entire NFL in rushing yards in 2012. "I want the rushing title," Bush said, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "This offseason, I've been working toward that goal. Just being effective like I was this past season. Every time I rush the ball, I want four yards. I'm keeping my focus simple and small but at the same time helping my team progress." The last time that the NFL leader in rushing yards posted less than 1,600 yards was 2007, when LaDainian Tomlinson won the title with 1,474. So if we assume that Bush needs at least that much to lead the league and he averages four yards a carry, he'll need 400 carries to get to 1,600 yards. Source: CBSSports
People in hell wants ice water also. There is no way he will lead the league in rushing. He would have to average over 200 yards a game to make up for the games he will miss from injuries he will get. Bet all the defenses will ask him what about that rushing title every time they tackle him for a three yard loss. Now maybe yards from scrimmage but not rushing.
Guys like him need to recognize what they're good at and perfect it. You don't hear Tom Brady talking about how he's going to rush for more yards than Mike Vick. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket
If he could stay healthy and take a beating with a "full-time" back type role, which I don't think he could, he would contend...but I don't think he could stay healthy or take the beating a "full-time" back would take.
if he was smart he would be a receiver. got the hands and body for it. gotta go with what you can do best and that is receiving. Sure, he will have a good rushing game here and there but not consistently.
Philbin is going to use him as a WR more. I think he could lead the league in AP yards if he stays healthy.
From what I've been reading Bush will split out wide and Thomas/Miller will be in the backfield. Pure speed with mismatching.
he should play out wide a lot...especially after trading marshall, theres no reason for him not to be on the field now
dude is killer out in space. He is a mismatch for most defenders. If he comes out the backfield either a linebacker or safety gets him and that's a wrap.
