Steelers Willie Colon Will Move From Tackle To Guard

The Pittsburgh Steelers have used this offseason to aggressively patch up an offensive line that stood out as perhaps the team's greatest weakness in 2011. First-round pick David DeCastro is an immediate starter at right guard. The team's second-round pick Mike Adams is penciled in at tackle, along with their second-round pick of 2011, Marcus Gilbert. That means changes for veteran Willie Colon, who confirmed Wednesday he'll shift from right tackle to the inside. "I've made the transition to left guard. I like it. It's just a matter of learning the verbiage," Colon told Mike Prisuta of WDVE-FM in Pittsburgh. Colon is embracing the switch and his size (6-foot-3, 315 pounds) makes him a fit. His one request was ample time to prepare: "My only issue would have been 'Don't move me midway through camp,' " Colon said, before telling Steelers fans to expect frequent pulling in Pittsburgh's man-power blocking scheme.

If you could draw a left tackle he'd look like Mike Adams, he has a real chance to be a good one if he wants to be. Decasto is a stud, Pouncey is a stud, Gilbert i like and he could play either tackle spot, and now im assuming Colon will play RG? This could transform to a top 5 or 10 O-Line in the league if everything comes together.

colon is going to play LG, not the greatest spot but they want decastro at RG. either way this makes pouncey an all world center. Colon is a top 6 RT when hes healthy, and thats him playing out of position. Excellent drive blocker, having pouncey create s*x on turf between colon and decastro is going to be amazing

Mike Adams wants to be a steeler in the worst way, hes going to work hard and hes made that pretty obvious throughout the draft process.

I think adams probably starts at RT and then he and gilber switch next year

Yea its pretty much unheard of what Adams did calling the Steelers back up, i resspected the accountability he took, as long as he keeps that up he'll be a very good one.

Love it. Adams - Colon - Pouncey - DeCastro - Gilbert.

theres a lot of s*x appeal to the offensive line right there. This is exactly what i wanted as a lineup
