Matthew Stafford wound up being the winning bidder for an auction item he put up himself, no, this is enough like the auction of a Lawrence Taylor Super Bowl ring over the weekend. Stafford, the Detroit Lions quarterback, chipped in tickets and transportation for a trip to a Monday night game in Chicago in October. Then, he stepped up and delivered the winning bid of $15,000, purchasing the package for Faith Falzone, a patient at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Falzone is having surgery this week, according to the Detroit News, and Stafford “moved†by her family’s story, now, the young girl and her family have something fun to look forward to in the fall. “They have been through so much in the past couple years, and to see how much they all supported each other and faith through their tough times was really inspiring," Stafford said in a text message. “I wanted to give them something they could really be excited about and something I know they deserved.†Source: Natonal Football Post
