Browns quarterback Colt McCoy said after practice Tuesday that he didn't ask to be traded because the Browns promised him a chance to compete for the starting job according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "As long as I'm given an opportunity to compete, if it's a fair competition, that's all you can ask for,'' McCoy said after the first day of organized team activities. He said he got a call from the Browns after they drafted Brandon Weeden No. 22 overall out of Oklahoma State. "(They) said 'just come in here and compete,''' he said. "As a competitor that's all you need to hear, really. You're just coming here with your head on right and giving it all you have every day.'' He said of his reaction to Weeden's drafting: "It is what it is. I've just got to go out and compete. I'm coming out here everyday working as hard as I can.''
