Entering the month of May, the consensus in the Bay Area seemed to be that a wide-open battle would likely be taking place to find a replacement at right guard for Adam Snyder, who signed with the division-rival Cardinals. But the way we hear it, it appears the job is now Alex Boone’s to lose. “He’s with the starting group now, and it looks like they are going to see whether or not he can make the transition,†a daily team observer said of Boone, who had turned himself into an extremely serviceable backup swing tackle after entering the league out of Ohio State as an undisciplined and out-of-shape undrafted rookie. “At 6-8 with long arms, he seems like the prototypical tackle. But he plays real low and his foot speed isn’t real great, which could make him better-suited for guard.†Source: ProFootball Weekly
I was thinking before the draft....they dont need to necessarily spend a high pick on a guard they have a couple of talented guys right here. I was actually thinking kilgore was going to step up.
