At age 42, Jeff Garcia says he's not done playing quarterback. After spending 2006 and 2009 with the Philadelphia Eagles, he's lobbying the organization for another chance to make the roster. "Philly's the team my wife will let me go back and play for," Garcia told WIP-FM, via Philly.com. "She's the only one that will approve the move, so to speak. Our experience there in Philadelphia in 2006 was just, for me as a player, one of the best experiences that I've had." Garcia is dreaming in public here. The Eagles don't need another quarterback behind Michael Vick. Reserves Mike Kafka, Trent Edwards and rookie Nick Foles are in the mix, and word is Kafka is a sure bet to win the backup job. What is it with ex eagles qb's not knowing when to hang it up? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket
It's funny that none of those ex-Eagles are employed and the player that has the best chance is probably AJ Feeley...lol. Garcia or McNabb...you have to pick one to back up Vick. Who do you select?
I haven't see how Garcia has played the last few years. But I remember him killing us in San Fran several times. He used to be a decent qb and a definite back up. Maybe someone else who followed him lately can say better. McNabb had the rep for being lazy in the conditioning dept and with the offense a lot of teams now play with the uptempo I don't see him with many suitors.
Garcia had problems throwing past 15 yards in Philadelphia, but he was some what effective...I'm sure there's reasons why he isn't on an NFL roster.
he was a decent game manager westbrook carried the load that year even beat the giants in the playoffs
I always thought that if you wanted a qb to play good enough not to lose a game and do ball control then Garcia was the best then. He can't win you multiple games on his arm alone. If you want a qb that can take control of a game then he isn't your guy.
