The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday named former Seahawks scouting executive Eric Stokes the director of college scouting Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports. Stokes, a Nebraska product, brings 14 years of NFL playing and scouting experience to the organization. He most recently worked as the Seahawks' assistant director of college scouting from 2010-11, a period in which he played a role in drafting standouts such as safety Earl Thomas (first-round, 2010), safety Kam Chancellor (fifth-round, 2010), linebacker K.J. Wright (fourth-round, 2011) and cornerback Richard Sherman (fifth-round, 2011). Stokes spent seven seasons as a Seahawks area scout and three as an assistant in the pro personnel department. He also played two seasons at safety for the Seahawks after being selected in the fifth round of the 1997 NFL draft.
