Sportsnet Canada's Arash Madani is reporting that the Eagles have signed veteran safety (and Canadian) Oshiomogho Atogwe. (evidently Atogwe has confirmed it). Atogwe, who will turn 31 next week, spent last season with the Redskins and was generally thought to have been slowed by injuries (but slowed nonethless). Given his recent injury history, this is no minor concern. He's had shoulder (2009), knee and toe (2011) issues in recent years. But if he is healthy, he'll provide the Eagles with some much needed veteran insurance at the safety position. At his best he was a savvy, instinctive guy and a good tackler. Source: SBNation
Coleman and Allen are the starters unless Jarrett has figured out the pro-level game. Which he wasn't even close to doing last year. Atogwe will just be a veteran presence.
They probably would have made a play on Atogwe anyway, but from what I heard, Jarrett didn't show much of an improvement in the mini-camps.
