Wide receiver Percy Harvin has requested a trade from the Vikings. Harvin, 24, has two years remaining on his original rookie contract, it has base salaries of $915,000 in 2012 and $1.55 million in 2013, plus workout bonuses of $27,500 in each year. Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN reports the contract no doubt is part of Harvin's beef with the Vikings, who seem unlikely to grant the request, but they were wary of paying Harvin even before this situation began to unfold, given concerns about his durability, lifestyle and history of insubordination. Though Harvin is beloved in the locker room, there long has been a feeling no one knows what to expect from him, and the content of his impromptu media session after the first walkthrough of minicamp was just the latest example. Only three weeks ago, Harvin was speaking about setting an example and being a leader for one of the NFL's youngest teams but, apparently, he's willing to play his most valuable leverage chip and say he wants out.
