Donovan McNabb has passed for 37,276 yards with 234 touchdowns, he's been to six Pro Bowls, most recently in 2009, and has led teams to six division titles and five conference championship games. Yet, he's not one of the 133 quarterbacks on current NFL rosters, which allow for up to 90 players. McNabb has reportedly dropped 20 pounds this offseason. The 35-year-old has expressed a desire to continue his playing career. On Thursday night, the third overall pick of the 1999 NFL Draft told NBC SportsTalk that there's an 80-to-90 percent chance he'll be on an NFL roster at the start of the 2012 regular season. "I have about three teams that I'm looking at," McNabb said. "I think teams are looking at what they have. They're evaluating their young quarterbacks, their backup situation," McNabb said. "Obviously, their starters they feel very confident in, but if things were to go wrong in training camp, or maybe the competition isn't where they need it to be, they'll obviously pick up the phone and call." No shot. He'll never be brought in a starter and he's proven on the Eagles, Redskins and Vikings that he's a terrible teammate if he's not the starter. It's over.
Hes always been a starter for the eagles i would take mcnabb if vick got hurt for a couple games. He knows our offense well i think he would do fine for us just cause hes used to the team.
No cash coming in, I can see him taking a back up role....of course I don't want him...but I've been a McNabb hater for quite a while now...
Chipper what the hell Where you been McNabb thinking he will be starting somewhere is some funny crap Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Ball is right. McNabb was only ever worth a crap in an Eagles uniform. If Vick goes down, we put the season in Trent Edwards' or Mike Kafka's hands. Yikes. But then again, what if he does good? Will this fanbase call for him next year? Either call Whisenhunt and send a 4th rounder for Kolb or call McMabb. Crapty that we have such terrible options for the backup position.
