Though he might not play much this season, Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett is in excellent shape and threw well during Arkansas' Pro Day back in the spring. The Boston Herald caught up with his college offensive coordinator Paul Petrino, who thinks Mallett understands what's being asked of him in the pros. "I think he just needs to keep learning, doing everything they tell him, and I think his potential is he’s going to be a starter and a real good player. That’s my belief," Petrino said. I don't think anything would make Belichick happier than to have Brady miss two weeks, have Mallett come in Cassell style and then turn around and trade Mallett for draft picks, trade those picks for picks, trade those picked for picks and wind up with 2 first rounders again...lol.
