When it comes to rookie wide receiver A.J. Jenkins, Coach Jim Harbaugh has his back, even if you don’t: “For those scribes, pundits or so-called experts to say he’s going to be a bust, they should just stop, because they’re making themselves look clueless, more than they already are,†Harbaugh said Sunday in an unscheduled visit to the press conference tent. “A.J. is going to be outstanding.†After also rating Jenkins as “oustanding†through the first two practices of camp, Harbaugh said he’s “going to keep track of names and there’s going to be an I-told-you-so. I forsee it happening.†Jenkins, this year’s first-round draft pick, had a couple nice catches to conclude Saturday’s practice. The first sign of any criticism than came his way was after his first practice in May’s rookie minicamp, when he appeared winded. Harbaugh said after that practice that the rookies weren’t in shape, and on Sunday, he said that assement was meant toward the group rather than Jenkins. Jenkins is currently in “tip-top†condition and is making “steady improvement,†Harbaugh added.

I kind of agree with Harbaugh here. The kid was out of shape and had a rough start but that was his first few days in the nfl. Give the kid sometime before you label him a bust....
