Preseason football only started yesterday but already the quarterback derby may be heating up in Arizona according to Brad Biggs of the National Football Post. Starter Kevin Kolb was knocked out of the Hall-of-Fame game after throwing only four passes with a bruised rib muscle. No one wants to overreact as Kolb will likely be back on the field before the week is over but his first pass was intercepted last night and he did not look good before the injury. In contrast, replacement John Skelton led a 90-yard scoring drive on his only full possession. He finished 4 of 6 for 32 yards. It is hard not to wonder if John Skelton is closing the gap or even overtaking Kevin Kolb for the starting quarterback job with the Arizona Cardinals. Source: The Redzone
skelton vs kolb, gabbert vs henne, or garrard vs moore vs tannehill....which is more exciting???????????????????????????????????
There isn't a local sports talk radio station isn't roasting Kolb today and they generally remain neutral to stay on good terms with the Cards. The fans calling in are just repeating what they were saying about a year and a half ago....."Kolb for DRC and a 2nd + the $$? We got robbed." Even Kolb loyalists have thrown in the towel on his ability to be successful in the NFL.
This^^. The media is relentless right now. Every local TV station is having a field day just butchering this guy......and rightfully so. If the Cards play Kolb they've got a shot at Barkley. If they play Skelton their record will probably keep them out of the mix.
