Antonio Cromartie said he has been "begging" coach Rex Ryan for three years to let him be a two-way player. He took another step toward that end today, for the first time taking part in individual drills with the receivers. Cromartie, the Jets' No. 2 cornerback and self-proclaimed No. 2 receiver, ran routes and caught passes with the rest of the receivers as coaches looked on. "I bugged Rex every opporintiy to put me on offense, so I finally get my chance," Cromartie said. "I got a couple plays last year, but this year, I’ll actually get a chance to play a little more receiver." Cromartie has taken two reps on offense in team drills during training camp. The coaches have drawn up a small package of offensive plays they could use with him.
