Nick Foles Leads Eagles To 27-17 Win Over Patriots

Eagles star quarterback Michael Vick was leveled after throwing a long pass in the first quarter and underwent X-rays for the second straight game — negative again. Then backup Nick Foles led the Eagles to a 27-17 preseason victory over the New England Patriots on Monday night. Eleven days earlier, in a 24-23 win over Pittsburgh, he had X-rays on his left thumb after hitting it on center Jason Kelce's helmet. Foles threw two touchdown passes for the second straight game for the Eagles. Tom Brady sat out the game for the Patriots.

I'm okay with Foles as the QB. Unfortunately as soon as Kafka is healthy he'll be number 2 again behind Vick. Yay.

 

I doubt it the eagles would be stupid not to give him the 2 spot

 

What in the Eagles history has made you believe they won't do something stupid? Reid doesn't have the best track record.

lol top 5 in wins isnt terribly difficult being a decent coach on a team that refuses to fire you year after year of shortcomings.

Nick Foles is already much, much better than Kevin Kolb. Kolb played in a pass happy offense in a crap conference in college. Foles broke records in every level he's played and played against competitive opponents. Comparing the 2 is plain ol' stupid.

get the heck out of here with that noise. "much, much better" my butt. I have always hated kolb (or any eagles QB for that matter) andy reid can really make a hoax of a QB look like the future. Kolb was a second round pick and i thought at best he profiled as a career backup just like stanton and edwards did that same year. Even with kolb being pure crap his entire career and being traded for DRC and a second rounder because annoucers would say things like "he makes andy reid light up like a christmas tree" foles is certainly not better than him right now. If vick struggles this year i would not be surprised at all if they drafted a QB in the first round, foles was simply so they have a backup for THIS year with the potential to be groomed for the future. You saying anything different is just "plain ol stupid"

diffrence is kolbs arm is weak is crap while foles has a cannon

 

thats fine it sucks that they come up short but theres so many teams out there that suck year after year atleast we have been competetive most of those years with andy as coach

 

he does not even come close to having a cannon. he is big but his arm strength leaves much to be desired for his size, if there was one big problem to his game its the velocity on his mid range throws, if anything id say his arm strength compares to matt leinart or kevin kolb. but even kolb could throw the ball deep to jackson.

Thats just ridiculous everyone in camp the announcers has talked about him throwing the ball deep with ease. Kolb did not throw deep passes easily like foles does u just wish death upon anything to do with the eagles.

He has a good arm. Nothing close to a cannon.

Vick has a cannon. JaMarcus had a cannon.

Foles does not and has never had a cannon. Watched him his whole college career. Doesn't make him less of a QB. He just doesn't have it.

 

One of the big knocks on Foles has been his arm strength and accuracy on deep balls. After hearing so much of it as a negative after the draft, I've been surprised that his long throws have been so good.

 

Lighting it up in preseason against backups playing with a tiny fraction of the normal defensive playbook = big freaking deal. A plethora of nobodies do it every single year and get their respective idiot fanbases all bonered up about having the 'next big thing" on the roster, only to never amount to a freaking thing. Get at me when he does it against a couple of legit defenses in the regular season.
