Reuben Frank from CSNPhilly.com reports that Andy Reid has admitted that DT Mike Patterson is expected to miss the entire season due to brain surgery. Patterson had surgery back in January to repair an AVM. He had been given six months to recover, however his progress has not been good and is now expected to miss the entire 2012-2013. Patterson had been diagnosed with Cerebral arteriovenous malformation back in 2011 and still managed to play 15 games before missing the final game due to influenza. The Eagles don’t believe that this is a career-threatening injury. Source: NFL Trade Rumors
Damn. Sucks for the guy. We won't be missing him on the field, fortunately. Jenkins and Cox, spelled by Landri and Dixon or maybe even Thornton. Think this is likely the end of the line for him.
Poor guy, get better. I have no idea how serious this injury is but anything involving the brain is obviously not good.
He's not a free agent until 2016. I bet he'll get one more camp to show he's back. If not, they more than likely will pull the trigger on him.
