The New England Patriots parted ways with veteran wide receivers Donte Stallworth and Jabar Gaffney as part of a series of cuts made in compliance with league rules.

Defensive lineman Tim Bulman, safety Ross Ventrone and defensive lineman Gerard Warren were also waived.

Defensive backs Will Allen and Josh Barrett and fullback Spencer Larsen were placed on injured reserve; Tight end Jake Ballard and defensive lineman Myron Pryor were paced on the physically unable to perform list; and offensive lineman Markus Zusevics was placed on the non-football injury list.

The Patriots claimed wide receiver Kerry Taylor off waivers from Minnesota.

Rosters had to be trimmed to 75 players by 4 p.m. Monday.

I haven't seen anything.. Why Gaffney?? Has he dropped off that much? Because if not, Cowboys need to take a good, hard look.

I'm shocked about Gaffney- but we also didn't really see him do a whole hell of a lot, especially after he got hurt between the first and second preseason games. Apparently Deion Branch has rediscovered himself a little bit and is going to be the #3 WR.

I can understand the Stallworth release with the emergence of Jeff Demps, but this one is a stunner. Just hope he doesn't sign with an NFC West team.

  5. Surprising. It's a shame they couldn't trade him. That would have been better for them. Gaffney can still play. The Jets need to sign him asap.
