Third-year pro Mike Kafka entered Eagles camp as the front-runner but broke his hand in the exhibition opener. Since then, rookie Nick Foles has developed light years ahead of schedule and Trent Edwards, who barely resembled an NFL quarterback during the OTAs, has also found his stride. Foles, a third-round pick, is locked into a spot. The team must decide whether Kafka’s experience in the offense is more advantageous than Edwards’ overall NFL starting experience.
