The Seattle Seahawks have released former Pro Bowl tight end Kellen Winslow.

The team acquired Winslow from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in May. He was supposed to be used in two-tight-end sets with Zach Miller this season, but the Seahawks chose to go in a different direction.

Anthony McCoy, a sixth-round draft choice in 2010, made the team as a tight end this season.

Winslow's practice time with the Seahawks was monitored due to a chronic knee condition.
