New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston missed Wednesday's practice with a left foot injury, but interim coach Aaron Kromer said every player on Wednesday's injury report should play Sunday in the season opener against the Washington Redskins in the Mercedes Benz-Superdome, Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Cornerback Jabari Greer (groin), linebacker Curtis Lofton (knee) and linebacker David Hawthorne (knee) were limited in Wednesday's session, while wide receiver Adrian Arrington (knee) full practiced. Lofton didn't practice in Monday so his status was upgraded. Running back Darren Sproles (knee) wasn't on the injury report so he appears ready to play Sunday. Source: The Redzone
Our receiving corp is the craps. Running game is starting to click. If our defense just plays middle of the pack and we continue to get the turnovers we are looking pretty damn good.
Except for the 'experts' that believe our 'coaching carousel' will effect us. But, whatever. Colston will be good. Our Receivers are awesome. offense will throw up those points. defense just needs to be better than last year, and we'll be golden.
if it was a new coaching staff I would tend to agree with them but it is really just an extension somewhat of Payton's coaching style. I have no worries myself.
I don't have any worries either. Because of that. It's not a brand new coaching staff. and our DC is there. Pete Cahrmichael ran the offense when Payton was hurt last year. We hung 60 on the Colts. That offense? Brees can coach it. So , the only concern is defense. I think it will get better. And yeah, not having Smith for the first 4 weeks will hurt, but as long as we get Lofton back healthy. Then all should be good.
Am I the only one that has not been impressed at all with Will Smith's total play. Sure he is decent against the run but not really a sack artist. Seems to me after both ends got paid they slacked off. But this is a Colston thread. If he gets his usual 60-70 catch 1300 yard season and don't make the pro bowl I will be pissed. Best receiver not to have made the pro bowl. You know how hard it is to get that many receptions on a team that spreads the ball around like the Saints do? Show the man his respect!!!!!
