There will be much talk this week about last year’s handshake and ensuing argument between 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Lions coach Jim Schwartz. The two teams meet Sunday night in San Francisco, and both coaches are still fiery.

However, Harbaugh says what happened with Schwartz will have no bearing on the game.

"Our approach with the mini-controversies is to give them the attention they deserve, which isn’t much,’’ said Harbaugh via the San Francisco Chronicle.

"Now people are going to use that to promote this game or any other game are really missing the point. The game is just so much bigger. Just as a rule of thumb, I have too much respect for the men who play this game on both sides to give it anything less than what it deserves.’’

Schwartz also downplayed the incident, saying via The Detroit News, "When the two teams take the field, that’s not going to be on one player’s mind.’’

However, the Harbaugh-Schwartz dynamic draws more attention to a budding rivalry between two teams coming off Week 1 victories.

The only reason there will be alot of talk is because the media will bring it up over and over again. Anybody else could give two craps less about last year!!! P.S. the 49ers will destroy the Lions:icon_cheesygrin:
