Bears quarterback Jay Cutler might have a new offensive system and new weapons such as Brandon Marshall, but after throwing four interceptions against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, he's "the same-old Jay," Charles Woodson said according to ESPN Chicago. "Heard some talk out of the Bears: Packers secondary not working coverage, bigger receivers ... we heard about it," Woodson told ESPN's Rachel Nichols after the game. "We understand that Jay is excited about his new weapons, but it's the same-old Jay. We don't need luck; Jay will throw us the ball." With the addition of Marshall and rookie Alshon Jeffery, Cutler seemed confident the Packers wouldn't have the same success with the physical tactics they've used in the past. "We've got some dudes that, if you're gonna get up in their face, even our speed guys are gonna get around them, and our big guys are gonna throw and go," Cutler said on Tuesday. "So we invite press coverage. We invite man (coverage). If we get that type of game, our guys outside have to make some plays for us." Cutler turned in his second four-interception game against the Packers at Lambeau Field. The Packers picked him off four times in his Bears debut in 2009 and have intercepted him 15 times in six regular-season games during his career in Chicago. "I mean, the proof is in the pudding. You see the way the game went tonight ... he threw the ball to the defense," Woodson said of Cutler. Source: The Redzone
Woodson just said what I was basically trying to say in the game thread. Cutler only performs as well or poorly as the guys around him. The guy doesn't know how to lead or make a play unless things are going perfectly. He crumbles when things aren't going perfectly. I guess he's just mentally/emotionally fragile and just panics or gives up.
How is he supposed to play well when hes flat on his butt half the game? He showed last week he can be the QB the Bears thought they were getting when he has time to read the field...7 sacks, thats pathetic.
He definitely shouldn't run his mouth, that's one thing he CAN do. He calls out the defense, and then expects his O-Line to protect him? That's his own fault. Don't talk smack if you have no reason to do so.
Cutler is just one of the them qbs that either you like or don't. Any qbs makes bad deacons when pressures and sacked Ask Brady about the giants defense
