Tight end Aaron Hernandez left today's game midway through the first quarter with what looked to be a nasty ankle injury.

On New England's third offensive play, Tom Brady completed a short pass to Julian Edelman. Hernandez was blocking for Edelman, but the wide receiver came down on Hernandez's lower leg as he was tackled by William Gay.

Hernandez walked off the field very gingerly and with assistance. After the play, Wes Welker, who had started the game on the sideline, entered for the first time.

What is Welker doing on the sidelines!? Is this Josh McCheese's (I ruined Denver now I'm going to ruin New England) or Belicheat's foolish decision?
