Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said he's seen significant progress in the last week from running back Adrian Peterson, who is coming back from an ACL tear suffered Dec. 24, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports. Frazier said he's been cfreaking in regularly with Peterson to gauge his soreness and overall condition after recent games. "He felt so much better this week in comparison to after the first game of the season on a Tuesday," Frazier said. "So we feel like he's really making progress from a physical standpoint." Frazier said that could result in more carries for Peterson Sunday against San Francisco, so far this season, Peterson has been rotating carries with Toby Gerhart. Peterson had 17 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. He went 16 for 60 yards - with three receptions for 20 yards - last week. Peterson averaged 4.4 yards a carry in those games, which is only slightly below his career average. "We think he's getting to that point where we can think about a few more carries," Frazier said. "He's getting close to that point, so we'll see how he does this week in practice. ... We've been rotating him and Toby every other series, but we're going to see how he does this week in practice." NBCs breakdown of how the niners play the run one on one and just straight up over power an offensive line was pretty incredible. He'll break a long run here and there and get a respectable stat line. I dont think the vikings are completely out of this game, i think it will be closer than everyone thinks
I would agree especially Minn being at home....but honestly my unbiased opinion, the niners shouldn't have a problem shutting out the Minn offense. Niners run D is one of the best in the modern nfl era and Minn passing game isn't very good against 49er corners who did an outstanding job containing GB and DET. And although Minn has some good defensive players the niners have the ability to score on them multiple times.
i mean not sure how much this means but christian ponder is completing passes at an insane league high 76% with 2 TDs and over 500 yards and no picks...their passing game isnt really "not very good" harvin has been a nightmare
i mean the niners could very well eat him lol, i just think the lionshad the right idea sticking with the run even though they arent even close to as good at it as the vikings...i think they stick with it and try to keep it close/ponder efficient
We lost to the colts..... Im expecting a multiple touchdown loss The reason that Ponder has had such good stats is because we didnt throw the ball past 10 yards in the air until the 4th quarter when we were down by 2 scores, they have no confidence in his arm and outside of percy, we have no other down field threats Also a middle school team could shred our secondary
colts this year>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>colts last year that being said the vikes are home...i dont think it will be a blowout
Agreed. This should and probably will be a blowout, secondary is piss poor with no ball hawks and no QB...but I will hold my judgement on Ponder until we get a true number one WR.
