Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate will appeals the fine for the hit he made on Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee, Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports. "I'm going to ask them that: 'What would you suggest that I do to make sure that this doesn't happen again?' " Tate said. "Because I never have intentions on injuring a player, and I always want to play within the rules. So that's a question that is going to come up when I have my appeal." Under the league's rules, Lee was defined as a defenseless player because he was running parallel to the end line in pursuit of a player and did not see the block coming. In that case, the blocker cannot strike the defenseless player in the head or neck area, and he can't use his helmet in the block. Coach Pete Carroll said he talked with league officials about the play to help clarify the issue. "It was a great effort by Golden to make the block that he needs to make," Carroll said. "But unfortunately, they saw it as there was a little contact to the bottom of the face mask and perhaps his chin and that's not OK." Source: The Redzone
