Christian Ponder, Kyle Rudolph Lead Vikings Past 49ers 24-13

    Christian Ponder threw a pair of touchdown passes to Kyle Rudolph and also ran for a score on Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings outplayed the San Francisco 49ers en route to a 24-13 victory.

    Ponder went 21-of-35 for 198 yards while Rudolph finished with 36 yards on five catches for the Vikings (2-1), who were coming off a last-second loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.

    Percy Harvin had nine receptions for 89 yards in Sunday's win while Adrian Peterson rushed for 86 yards on 25 carries.

    Alex Smith completed 24-of-35 passes for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the 49ers (2-1), who were aiming for their first 3-0 start since 1998.

    Vernon Davis had five catches for 53 yards and a score in the setback and Frank Gore rushed for 63 yards with a fumble on 12 carries.

    I will admit I was WRONG about Ponder. He picked that D apart. One thing that was really frustrating was the niners came out passing and passing and passing, then fell behind, then starting running a lot. WTF?

    Bottom line....the Vikings CLEARLY wanted it more. HUGE sense of urgency on there team. Seemed like SF came in that dome as the NFC WEST CHAMPIONS instead of the blue collar guys that they are.
