Bears Say They Have No Timetable On When WR Alshon Jeffrey Will Return

The Bears coaching staff declined to give a specific timetable for Alshon Jeffery's recovery from a fractured right hand. No matter how many games the rookie receiver misses, it will be hard to replace his contribution to the offense.

"Well, I don't know how long he is out but it's tough,'' offensive coordinator Mike Tice said Tuesday. "It's too bad because he was starting to come on.

"Great rapport between (Jeffery) and Jay (Cutler). But now, we hopefully can get Earl (Bennett) back and just keep going.''

Jeffery suffered the injury in Sunday's 41-3 victory over the Jaguars. He stands second on the team in receptions with 14 for 184 yards and two touchdowns.

"Injuries are part of it," coach Lovie Smith said. "He'll be back before we know it.''

Good timing with the bye this week though. If there's a good time to have an injury, it's now.

 

That's a tough loss to that offense, as it was just starting click. However, I think they will be alright with Earl Bennett probably coming back after the bye.
