Vincent Jackson has been quarterback Josh Freeman’s favorite target this year, but he has not been his most consistent and reliable pass catcher. Jackson has been targeted 38 times, but he’s only caught 16 for a catching average (42.1 percent) that ranks 100th in the league. A lot of factors have contributed to that number. Jackson has faced a lot of double-teams, and Freeman has been guilty at times of trying to force the ball into those double-coverages, Jackson also has failed on a few occasions to haul in catchable passes, which is not like him. No matter the reason, Freeman and Jackson have to develop a better working chemistry if the Bucs are going to succeed, the Bucs are committed to getting the ball to Jackson, and if they don’t start connecting more often, the offense is never going to get on track.
